HOW TO GET CAPRI ISLAND FROM NAPLES?

The only way to get the island is by sea or helicopter.
Ferries depart from Naples and Sorrento. During the summer months, there are also ferry routes departing from Positano, Amalfi, Salerno and Ischia.

GETTING TO NAPLES

The Naples International Airport (Aeroporto Internazionale di Napoli Capodichino) is the closest airport to Capri.
The airport is 20 minutes from the Port of Naples, which is where the ferries pick up for transport to Capri.
Naples is also accessible by train, which is a convenient option for those who plan to travel within Italy in advance of the wedding weekend.
The main station in Naples is called Napoli Centrale. High speed trains are available from Rome (1h10m), Milan (4h30m), and Florence (2h50), and others.

PORTS IN NAPLES

Ferries from Naples to Capri depart from two ports: the Molo Beverello and the Calata Porta di Massa.
We suggest taking the ferry from Molo Beverello to Capri.
Getting to Molo Beverello from Naples Airport (“Aeroporto”) or Train Station (Napoli Centrale):
At the airport, outside the exit of Terminal 1, there is a taxi stand with licensed taxis. At Napoli Centrale, the taxi stand is located
just outside the station entrance. When you enter the taxi, tell the driver you’d like to go to “Molo Beverello”
Do not be alarmed if the driving in Naples is a bit more “adventurous” than what you are used to in your country!
Please only take official taxis and do not accept rides from those who offer them inside the airport, as they are not licensed.

THE HIGH-SPEED FERRY TO MARINA GRANDE (CAPRI PORT)

We recommend you take the high-speed ferry from Naples to Capri. This ferry will take a little less than an hour and cost around 22EUR.
Tickets for the ferry can either be purchased directly at the pier or online, but either way you will need to pick up your tickets when you arrive at the pier.

You will also need to purchase tickets for your bags, which you will leave in a baggage area upon boarding the ferry.

HOW TO GET CAPRI ISLAND FROM ROME?

Take the Leonardo Express shuttle train to the Roma Termini central train station, and from here transfer to a train for Naples.
Once in Naples, take a taxi to the Port of Naples (Molo Beverello), and purchase your high speed ferry ticket to reach the island.

ARRIVING ON THE ISLAND

In advance of your trip we recommend you coordinate your travel schedule directly with your
hotel concierge to secure bag transport from the port of Capri to your hotel. Once you leave the port, Capri is elevated, hilly, and pedestrian-only
(cars are only permitted in Capri Center or Anacapri), so we highly recommend you do not carry your own bags from the port to your lodging destination.

NOTE: It may feel unnatural to leave your bags with a stranger at the port, but believe us this is safe and the best way to get your luggage to where you are staying.
Depending on where you are staying (Capri or Anacapri), there are a couple of methods to get from Marina Grande, the Capri port, to your destination.

GETTING TO CAPRI CENTER

To reach Capri’s main square, Piazza Umberto, from the port, you can travel by funicular, taxi, or bus.
We love the funicular for the experience and view it provides.

The funicular itself takes around 5 minutes, but you may need to wait in a queue.
NOTE: Because Capri is regularly visited by daily tourists, there may be long queues at certain times in the day.

Taxis will be accessible just after you walk off the dock. All Capri taxis fit up to 7 people, and are open-topped.
The fare to reach the Piazza Umberto is around 20EUR, but will depend on the day.
All rides are a fixed rate and the driver will tell you the cost upfront. The taxi takes around 10 minutes.

BUS

Buses usually depart every 15 minutes or so, and can be found to the right of the funicular ticketing office.
